Uramichi can be considered a celebrity for being a host of such a popular show. Moreover, being the host of a show meant for children, he can’t quite show his rather realistic and often gloomy demeanor on screen. Let’s get into the details of the characters first.
Uramichi
The main character, as we already mention is Uramichi. A 31-year-old who is one of the 5 popular hosts on a popular children’s show. In the anime, Uramichi is going to be voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya. Hiroshi is famous for being the voice of Captain Levi from Attack on Titan. Uramichi is the ultimate example of an adult who feels utter despair but doesn’t quite show it. However, sometimes on the show, he lets the real part of him out saying things that aren’t exactly appropriate for children. Uramichi is an adult who is crushed by societal pressures. He drinks smokes and has the least healthy lifestyle and philosophy for the icon of a children’s show. But in the end, Uramichi is human. And his lifestyle seems and feels very real.
Iketeru Daga
Iketeru is a supporting character in the show. He is one of the five hosts who perform little things on the show alongside Uramichi. Iketeru is the classic airhead. He takes his time when he doesn’t understand something and he doesn’t understand a lot of things. This includes telling the time on a clock. He used to be a musical actor before falling into the hands of the director and producer of Together with Maman. He is a singing instructor who sings melodies to teach kids simple lessons. Often, he and Uramichi are made to wear ridiculous costumes and assume characters to tell kids about germs, or manners, or other such things. Mitsuo Kumatani
Kumatani plays a bear on the show Together with Maman alongside Uramichi. Mitsuo is a relaxed individual and probably the sanest person from the entire cast of characters in the show. He remains collected but fears Uramichi. Uramichi tends to release pent-up frustration on his other cast members. As a result Mitsuo rarely takes off his bear mask so he doesn’t have to make eye-contact with Uramichi. He will be voiced by Yuichi Nakamura, famous for Gray Fullbuster in Fairy Tale and Mumen Rider in One Punch Man.
Utano Tadano
Utano Tadano is the main female character in the show. She is a former singing idol who, because of bad luck and timing has to work alongside Iketeru Daga as a singing instructor on the show. Just like every other character, she is cheerful on the show but when the curtains are drawn and the cameras stop rolling, Utano is just another girl trying to deal with life. She often becomes depressed, especially about the subject of marriage. Her life is no less tragic as she worked hard to graduate from an esteemed Music University but still failed with her singing career. She is obsessed with marriage and if one of the kids on the show asks anything about it, she would jump into advice for picking a partner. Life Lessons With Uramichi Oniisan was supposed to start airing in July 2021 but due to some reasons has been further delayed. The manga is published under Ichijinsha’s banner and distributed in the U.S. by none other than Kodansha. The anime will be produced by Studio Blac. So, what are the manga and anime all about?
