Stone plays the aspiring journalist Eugenia ‘Skeeter’ Phelan who writes a book by the name “The Help.” She wrote the memoirs of black women who worked as house helpers in the homes of whites in Jackson, Mississippi. While her parents have plans of marriage for her, Skeeter wants to do so much more with her life than just marriage. The Help is directed by Tate Taylor and is based on Kathryn Stockett’s 2009 novel of the same name.

La La Land is a 2016 American romantic comedy musical film. The movie is the most successful film that Emma Stone has been a part of. Not only did it grab huge cash at the box office, but it also landed several nominations at the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and the rest. Emma stars opposite Ryan Gosling as a young girl who wants to pursue acting in LA and Ryan plays a Jazz artist who wants to open his own Jazz club. The two fall in love but separate over minor career issues. Emma plays Mia and Ryan plays Sebastian. Years later, Emma becomes a successful actress, mother of a baby and Seb has opened his own Jazz bar in LA. La La Land is a visual treat. It is emotional and has a lot of dance numbers too. La La Land is written and directed by Damien Chazelle, who picked up an Academy Award for Best Director for it.

Birdman (7.7)

Birdman is a 2014 American black comedy–drama film.  The movie is about a dying Hollywood actor who was is best known for playing the superhero named Birdman. He can’t seem to get a grip over his current state of affairs as he is focusing on a Broadway adaptation. He struggles and aches to do a Broadway adaptation of a short story by Raymond Carver. Birdman is directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu. Michael Keaton as Riggan Thomson, aka Birdman. Emma plays a recovering drug addict, Sam. The movie was a major hit at the Academy Awards. It won the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director.

Superbad (7.6)

Superbad is a 2007 American coming-of-age teen comedy film. The movie stars Emma as Jules, who is the host of a party. She is kissed unwantedly by Seth. The story is about Jonah Hill and Michael Cera who play Seth and Evan respectively. While the two are about to graduate high school, they want to lose their inhibitions Emma’s brief part in the movie landed her major comedy roles soon after. Easy A being one of them.

The Favourite is a 2018 period black comedy film. The movie stars an ambitious Abigail Masham, a girl who lands at the Court of Queen Anne (Olivia Colman). Initially, she looks for petty jobs, but her ambition and her drive to oust her cousin, Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough (Rachel Weisz) has her conniving vicious plans. The Favourite landed Emma a nomination for Supporting Actress. However, Olivia Coleman won Best Actress at the Academy Award, Golden Globes, and BAFTAs, for her incredible and apt portrayal of Queen Anne. The Favourite is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.

Zombieland (7.6)

Zombieland is a 2009 American post-apocalyptic zombie comedy film. The movie got a sequel in the previous year, but the first one continues to be the original best. Emma Stone stars along with Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin in the post-apocalyptic zombie comedy. People proudly call Zombieland the greatest zom-com since Shaun Of The Dead. The four take a road trip across the Southwestern United States to safe a safe haven, a place free from the zombie terror. Zombieland is directed by Ruben Fleischer. An incredibly funny take with an engrossing storyline that made Zombieland such a hit with the audiences. A sequel to this, called Zombieland: Double Tap, was released on October 18, 2019.

Crazy, Stupid, Love (7.4)

 Crazy, Stupid, Love is a 2011 American romantic comedy film. The movie is a treat to fans of Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell, the legend Julianne Moore. The plot centers around Steve Carell who has been recently divorced by Julianne’s character. He wants to emasculate himself and discover his manhood again. That is where Ryan Gosling jumps in, to help him pick up women at bars. Emma plays his daughter, Hannah Weaver who is dating Ryan without knowing what he does for a living. Crazy, Stupid, Love is directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. Marisa Tomei and Kevin Bacon also feature in the supporting cast of the movie. The Croods is a 2013 American computer-animated adventure comedy film. It is the tale set in the fictional prehistoric Pliocene era also known as “The Croodaceous.” Just a fictionalized setting to call a prehistoric period that contains fictional prehistoric creatures). Emma voices Eep Crood, the daughter of Grug and Ugga (voiced by Nicolas Cage and Catherine Keener). Easy A is a 2010 American comedy film. Easy A is such a hilarious comedy and all the characters perfectly fit in this movie. Emma Stone plays a schoolgirl Olive who lies to her best friend about a little romp in the sack with college boys. As a result of which she gains a reputation around. Turns out she is just lying about every romp in the sack adventure, she just does it to make money off of boys. Easy A is directed by Will Gluck, and written by Bert V. Royal. The movie stars Emma Stone as the lead. Stanley Tucci, and Patricia Clarkson play her parents. The rest of the cast consists of Thomas Haden Church, Dan Byrd, Amanda Bynes (is the lead antagonist, the Christian school girl), Penn Badgley, Cam Gigandet, Lisa Kudrow, Aly Michalka, and Malcolm McDowell. Easy A‘s screenplay was loosely based on the 1850 novel The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
