Super Saiyan 3 Transformation was unlocked by Goku during the Majin Buu saga. At that time, it was understandable that the creator wanted to give the limelight to Goku. However, in the Battle of Gods, only Goku got to be the Super Saiyan God. Moreover, In Resurrection of ‘F’ Frieza, Vegeta finally got the screentime he deserved and transformed into Super Saiyan God, and he really stood up to fans’ expectations. However, Super Saiyan 3 was skipped. Fans never actually got to see Vegeta in his Super Saiyan 3 form, which is quite an unfortunate thing. As per Akira Toriyama the creator of “Dragon Ball”, Super Saiyan 3 is his one of the favorite transformations, and he’d really love to have Vegeta attaining the form. However, they have a lack of means. Unlike Other forms, Super Saiyan 3 has a long hair, and drawing/ animating that is a real ordeal! It does not just cost much to them but it also is too time-consuming for the animators, i.e, resulting in poorly animated scenes that we got to see in Battle of Gods movie. So the producers wanted to have one episode of Dragon Ball Z every Sunday, no matter what. Sp, the animators and story writers had to leave the idea of including Vegeta Super Saiyan 3.
